Staff Spotlight: Joe Ninomiya

Congratulations to our very own Joe Ninomiya who was recently published in the college textbook titled Traumatic Brain Injury – Rehabilitation, Treatment and Case Management, Fourth Edition. Joe is a Clinical Supervisor and LMFT at our Kern Crossroads Correctional Facility program in Bakersfield. Joe’s chapter is on vocational rehabilitation.

In the 1980’s, vocational rehabilitation for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) was rarely heard of to most. Joe created precedence in this area of rehabilitation and his concepts are used by various professionals and facilities. He also provided psychotherapy and substance use addiction at that time and was able to differentiate between drug/alcohol use, TBI and psychopathology as his specialty.
