On December 1, 2020, Phoenix House California will join millions around the world in celebrating #GivingTuesday. People around the globe will come together in unity and show kindness and generosity in all its forms by giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes.
#GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good and has since grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
People demonstrate generosity in many ways on #GivingTuesday. Whether it’s helping a neighbor or stranger, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. Thanks to you, #GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gets 21 billion impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.
Will you kindly consider Phoenix House California as one of your causes this year?
Over the coming days, Phoenix House California will inspire you with life-transforming stories — words and stories of hope, resilience, and of people striving to live lives they never dreamed possible. Generous donors supporting PHCA’s #GivingTuesday campaign will have a significant impact. Your support allows us to provide our life-saving services for the women, men, and young people in our care: residential and outpatient treatment, continuing care, recovery support, school-based prevention and mental health services, and in-custody substance abuse and mental health services. Your generosity and commitment help us save lives everyday – One life at a time.
Will you #RiseUp for our #GivingTuesday challenge?
Our campaign goal is to raise $20,000. Every dollar donated up to $20,000 will be matched by an anonymous donor. We can’t do this life-saving work without you – our government contracts don’t cover the actual cost of all the programs and services we provide, and campaigns like #GivingTuesday are instrumental in helping bridge that funding gap – let’s #RiseUp together.

Your support helps us change lives!
Here are what some had to say about how Phoenix House California has impacted their lives.
Daniel Bouchard, Recovery Support Staff, Venice Men’s Residential Program, November 2020 Employee of the Month – Venice Beach
“You get to actually see someone see a difference in themselves and you get to see a whole transformation. Sometimes they’re the last one to see that they’re changing. I get to share that with them. The person who walks out is a completely different person and you get to bring that hope back into them.”
Robert M., Graduate of Santa Ana Residential Program
“Who I was before I walked through the door and how I was when I walked out— my train of thoughts was completely different. The curriculum that they used opened my mind to how life could be without using drugs or alcohol. For them to come into work and deal with so many personalities and help you understand what you’re going through and help you combat your addiction, I have to give props to the Phoenix House staff for taking the time to help me understand myself and my struggles.”
