Eric Samuels is treasurer and senior vice president of corporate finance at Prospect Medical Holdings, a healthcare services company comprising hospitals and affiliated medical groups. In this role, he oversees financial strategies, capital structure and investment decisions to ensure the organization’s fiscal health and growth.
Prior to this, Mr. Samuels served as chief operating officer of Prospect Integrated Behavioral Health, overseeing a full continuum of behavioral health services, including detox, substance use disorder treatment, adult and geriatric care, co-occurring disorders, high-acuity programs, long-term behavioral health, psychiatric emergency services, crisis stabilization units, intensive outpatient programs and outpatient care. He managed operations across six states, covering more than 750 beds.
With over 25 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, finance and behavioral health, Mr. Samuels has managed a wide range of healthcare related functions and services.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Samuels held positions at prominent financial institutions, including Jefferies, Houlihan Lokey, and UBS Investment Bank, where he specialized in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets advisory. He also served in strategic roles at Countrywide, focusing on corporate strategy and global markets development.
Mr. Samuels holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree in business administration in finance and accounting from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. His extensive experience in finance, corporate strategy and healthcare operations enhances his contributions to the board of Phoenix House California, supporting the organization’s mission and long-term strategic initiatives.
