Michael S. Kraus

Michael S. Kraus is a seasoned executive with deep expertise in logistics, supply chain management, private equity, and corporate strategy. He currently serves as chairman and CEO of Expak Logistics, a national provider of B2B distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment services for Fortune 1000 clients across diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, retail, financial services, and government.

Mr. Kraus began his career with Chancery Lane Capital, a New York-based private equity firm, where he was involved in strategic investments through its principal investment vehicle, Big Flower Holdings. Following the sale of Big Flower in 1999, he played a key role in Chancery’s PIPE investment in Moore Corporation in 2000 and was instrumental in orchestrating the sale of Moore Wallace to RR Donnelley, forming an $11 billion global printing and business services company. At RR Donnelley, he was responsible for strategic transactions with a focus on logistics and international operations in Europe and Asia.

He later became the managing member of Krest Capital, a Los Angeles-based private investment and advisory firm, and a principal at OpenGate Capital, a global private investment firm. During this time, he led numerous investments and operational turnarounds across industries such as paper, packaging, food and beverage, and supply chain management.

Mr. Kraus holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell University and brings a wealth of financial and operational expertise to Phoenix House California.
