Giovanna Sanguinetti joined Phoenix House California in 2015 as Prevention Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Intervention and Support Services program and since 2016 has served as Program Director. Since joining the organization she has led her team to expand behavioral services for youth throughout Orange County to reach over 50 schools and thirty thousand participants annually. Her focus is to empower youth to discover their strength while boosting their protective factors. Under Ms. Sanguinetti’s leadership, the BHIS team developed you and, an interactive mobile application that makes mental health support for youth in Orange County accessible virtually.
Prior to joining Phoenix House, Ms. Sanguinetti was a high school administrator serving at risk youth in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Sanguinetti is passionate about increasing the notion of behavioral health prevention and destigmatizing mental health in all communities. She holds an Interdisciplinary Degree in Health Science and Behavioral Health from the University of Central Florida as well as a Master’s in Medical Anthropology.
