Sophia A. Gonzalez joined Phoenix House in September of 2019 as Senior Program Director of Adult Services in Orange County where she oversees the Residential, Detox, In-Custody, Outpatient and Peer Mentor programs. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with over 25 years of experience in the behavioral/mental health field. She has committed her life to helping others and has done so in both the private, non-profit, and public sectors. Ms. Gonzalez has a proven track record for growing multi-million-dollar programs and believes that staff is the greatest asset to helping clients. One of her favorite quotes is “Be exceptional, because what you do is far too important.”
Prior to joining Phoenix House, Ms. Gonzalez served as Program Director for Pacific Clinics in El Monte, Head of Services and Manager of the Full-Service Partnership program at Harbor View Community Services Center, Clinical Director at Crittenton Services for Children and Families, School Administrator at Olive Crest’s Bellflower School, and as a therapist or clinician for Canyon Acres Children’s Services, Hope for Healing Counseling, and other providers.
Born and raised in Southern California, Ms. Gonzalez holds a B.A. in Psychology from USC and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
